Virtualization of servers is a technological process, which, simply stated, allows the concentrated operation of more virtual servers on one physical machine, thereby reducing and optimising your hardware expenditure. An additional advantage is the easy backup and recoverability of these virtual machines.  The basic software tool that we use for virtualisation is VMware. In your company, we will be able to implement complete consolidation of all servers and to create and manage your internal virtualised environment (internal cloud) for them or you can make use of the services of a data centre (external cloud).

Amanda is a backup system that permits you to fully back up Unix and Windows servers. Backup data within each backup cycle are relocated in full or in increments on the backup hard disks, from which they can then be restored, in the event of a breakdown of the production server.  For each backup cycle Amanda sends a report, in which it verifies that the backup cycle was correctly carried out and that the backup data are in a status consistent with the possibility of quick recovery.

Samba Fileserver emulates and fully replaces the action of the classic Windows file server for sharing documents in your company's computer network and thereby allowing for the setting-up of Access Control Lists, roaming profiles, disk quotas, shared printers, etc.

The database server, as its name implies, is used to operate the databases for your internal and external applications. We can install and administer every major type of database software, including:  MySQL, PostrgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server

Webserver allows the placement of and access to various websites (VirtualHosts) via the Internet. For our installations we use the Apache HTTP Web server, which is suitable for very busy sites, and also supports other software and modules, such as PHP Proxy, load-balancing, web statistics, etc. An FTP server is also a good supplement that can provide the source data for your own website or can be used as a secure hub for the remote uploading and downloading of data.

A proxy server acts as an intermediary between the client (browser) and the web server. When a client makes a request to view any web page, it first requests a proxy server, which "downloads" the site content, saves it into memory and transmits a copy to the client. Another client with the same request is then served directly from the proxy server, making the process faster. The proxy Server also separates your LAN from the Internet and can also be used for the monitoring and authentication of users that access the Internet from your corporate network, or for the filtering of undesired web content.

The DHCP server assigns their IP addresses to individual computers in a corporate network, either in accordance with their MAC addresses or randomly, thereby greatly simplifying and centralising the management of the computer network (e.g. adding new stations, bulk changes of parameters or hiding technical details from users).

As a corporate mail server for your e-mail communication we install the Postfix messaging agent on the FreeBSD operation system. You can also install and utilise antivirus functions (ClamAV) and antispam (SpamAssassin) protection. Access to the e-mail mailboxes for users is possible through the Horde web interface or via POP3 (messages are downloaded to your local PC) or via IMAP (messages remain on the mail server).

The Munin passive monitoring system is a client-server application consisting of the Munin-main server and the client-part of the Munin-node. The server functions as a collector of data that are provided delivered through the individual nodes in the individual monitored servers. In the event that it should not be possible to install the client-part of the Munin-node on the monitored system, it is possible to collect data via the SNMP (Windows).

One of the basic features of the Munin system, in addition to a graphic representation of the continuously collected data, is also notification (by e-mail or by SMS) concerning any excess of a predefined limit for individual monitored values (e.g., CPU load, RAM usage, filling of HDD and many other parameters).

Zenoss is software that monitors servers in terms of the availability of the services (HTTP, SMTP, POP3, etc.) of running processes (httpd, postfix, mysqld, etc). It can detect whether the server is available or if it is responding in accordance with the pre-defined time period. Zenoss assists in the administration of networks and also as a documentation tool. A dashboard with a map shows the locations of the individual machines on a map (Google Maps) and can also record the lists of processes and installed software.

If Zenoss registers the unavailability of some of the servers or the unavailability of some portion of the services running on them, it executes a predefined action, i.e. an alarm (e-mail/SMS) or waits for a predefined period of time and tries again to check availability.

This basic element of network protection against external attacks is based on the FreeBSD operation system using the SNORT detection mechanism with the option of automatic updating of a database of attacks. It can be utilised as an IDS (Intrusion Detection System), by which the attack attempts on the gateway are only detected, reported by e-mail and recorded in the log (a local text file or an external database) or as an IPS (Intrusion Prevention System), in which the gateway works in the same manner as an IDS but also can disable access from the attacker's IP address directly on the firewall for a pre-defined time interval.

WiBSD router is used as a basic protective firewall and Internet gateway to your company's computer network. It also permits the configuration of a VPN (Virtual Private Network) and enables secure remote access to your corporate data. The WiBSD operating system itself is a derivative of the somewhat better known FreeBSD.

As a basic virus protection for your company's computer network we recommend (and also utilise) software called NOD 32, licences for which we sell and install, as an official distribution partner of the manufacturer ESET.
